Belts are supplied with an additional connector rod for each 10 feet of belting. These are provided to create an endless belt or for splicing sections. Standard Duty, Clinched Selvage connector rods are supplied with a pre-formed hook on one end and straight wire on the other. Bring together the two sections of belt to be spliced, and insert the connector rod. Close the hook using pliers. On the other side, bend the straight wire back through the hole in the edge of the belt and form a hook, then close it. Welded Selvage and Heavy Duty connector rods are supplied with a button head weld on one end and a threaded nut on the other end. After placing the rod through the belt, tighten the nut against the belt and cut off any excess rod which sticks past the nut.
